NON-EXAMINED ASSESSMENT (NEA) & COURSEWORK

International A Levels and GCSEs generally do not require NEA or Coursework and can be a less costly alternative.

These are available from the following awarding bodies

International GCSE

  • Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE)
  • Pearson International

International A-LEVEL

  • Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE)

Coursework (NEA)

We will accept coursework via our approved NEA Partners.

If your course provider is not one of our approved NEA Partners, or you are being privately tutored, you must contact us prior to booking.

Please be aware that we only accept coursework if it can be verified/authenticated by one of our approved NEA Partners.

The deadline for verified/authenticated coursework to be received by Tutors & Exams is 1st March in any academic year (unless otherwise agreed).

There is a surcharge if coursework arrives at the examination centre after this date and must also be agreed with the NEA partner.

You must contact us with information about the authentication of your NEA prior to booking.

Please check your SPECIFICATION CODE and OPTION CODE carefully.

Carry Forward

You may be able to use your GCSE or A Level Coursework Component mark from a previously certificated result.

Rules of carry forward:

If you are retaking a GCSE or A Level subject, you can request that the NEA or coursework mark from your previously certificated attempt be ‘carried forward’ and used towards your retake result.

The general rules for carrying forward NEA or Coursework are:

  • You can only carry forward a result towards the same qualification with the same exam board
  • Your previous attempt must have been used in a GCSE or A Level award (grade) of the same specification.
  • If you have more than one previous attempt, the attempt used in the most recent GCSE or A Level award will be used
