Understanding EDClass: A DfE-Accredited Online Learning Solution

EDClass stands as a DfE accredited provider of online education, offering a robust virtual learning environment and management portal designed to remove barriers to learning for a diverse range of students. With over 17 years of experience in alternative provision, EDClass delivers personalised, safeguarded online learning solutions suitable for remote, blended, and flexible educational needs.

How EDClass Operates

The core of EDClass’s offering lies in its pre-made virtual learning resources, that have been aligned with the national curriculum. Learners benefit from on-demand teacher support, available from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 4 pm, ensuring flexibility to meet individual student requirements. Access to teachers and resources is facilitated through a unique system referred to as a ‘seat’. This allows students to work asynchronously, yet with the crucial benefit of on-demand 1:1 remote pastoral and academic support from QTS experienced teachers. A key feature of the platform, notably highlighted by Ofsted, is its commitment to robust safeguarding interventions, designed to protect vulnerable and at-risk learners.

EDClass incorporates baseline/diagnostic assessments to accurately determine academic levels and pinpoint any learning gaps. Following these assessments, a tailored, structured learning strategy is put in place, with regular follow-up assessments to monitor and track academic progress. For students who prefer independent study, all pre-made resources are accessible 24/7.

Comprehensive Learning Content

The platform hosts an extensive virtual library containing over 15,000 on-demand pre-recorded lessons and pathways, all developed by EDClass’s experienced teachers. This rich content spans core subjects such as English, Maths, Science, and other key areas across Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3, and Key Stage 4.

Students using EDClass can progress at their optimal pace, supported by qualified teachers. Interaction between learners and teachers is facilitated through various features, including text, video, and audio communication, screen sharing, and scenario-based learning tasks. Integral safeguarding procedures are embedded to track attendance, achievement, and attainment. These interactive elements can be part of a timetabled session provided by either EDClass’s teachers or the educational establishment.
