Learning Partner Description
Home-School Tutoring Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, run by owner and Area Advisor Yvette McDaniel*, provides patient, bespoke and effective tuition in a wide range of subjects across the County of Cornwall. We have been established in the area since 2016 and are an associate company of Home-School Tutoring UK Ltd, established over 30 years ago. There are over 40 areas of Home-School Tutoring across the country and each one is an independent business (not a franchise) which reflects the needs of the local community.
Our fully vetted, qualified and experienced local teaching professionals are on hand to assist with your, or your child’s, learning. We aim to provide supportive tuition for all subjects, abilities and ages, from Early Years Foundation Stage up to Degree level qualifications. We can help with Entrance Examinations (9+, 11+ and 13+) and Home Schooling. We create individually tailored lessons and our goal is that our tuition sessions are engaging, encouraging and enjoyable, which are all important factors that help to accelerate student progress.
We can do assessments alongside tuition as well as provide progress reports and self study resources. We will always go the extra mile to ensure that every single tutoring experience delivers exactly the right solution for the client and you can be confident that you are in good hands, right from the start. We will be with you all the way, from the initial consultation phone call through to securing a tutor and then regular check-ins to make sure everything is going well. We are also always happy to listen and advise on all aspects of tutoring and home education, as well as providing support and resources for your young person’s emotional and mental wellbeing. We have a good knowledge of the Primary and Secondary national curriculum and always work to support the school in aiding your child’s development.

*Owner and Area Advisor details – Yvette is an experienced teaching professional. During her career she has taught across all of the key stages, and became a Headteacher of a rural Primary school, where she spent seven, very happy years, also working as a consultant to other schools in the area. Yvette is a published author of a number of Maths support books for teachers and a former Science SAT marker. She joined HST Cornwall as a tutor in 2020.
