Booking privately can be really overwhelming when you’ve never done it before, but everyone was so helpful. Jude dealt with a lot of my queries and was always friendly and so helpful.

I especially want to mention Sarah Smith from the Access Arrangements team, who was amazing. I had a lot of contact with Sarah, and she honestly became my go to person! She kept me calm, explained everything I needed to know, and was always so friendly, patient and helpful. She made a more difficult part of the process far easier than I anticipated. I have since booked more exams for my son and I had to get back in contact with Sarah. She replied instantly and was as lovely and as helpful as she was previously.

We also have nothing but positive things to say about the centre when sitting his exams. The staff were welcoming and we experienced no problems.

My son is autistic and has needed additional support and the team at Bolton Tutors & Exams have gone above and beyond to ensure that he has felt welcomed, safe and supported. If you are home educating a child and looking for an exam centre that understands your needs I absolutely 100% recommend this venue.

I do find it hard to find some bits of info at times on the website but always find if you complete a ‘contact us’ form the staff respond very quickly. I had an experience on results morning of struggling to get on the portal for his grade at first, but expect this with everyone trying to do the same all at once so just needed a little patience. Staff are super helpful and reassuring and my son was made to feel really comfortable at the exam centre. Thank you

As a home-educating family, we travel a considerable distance to Bolton so that my son can sit his GCSEs and now his A-levels, and every journey has been worthwhile. The venue is well organised, professional, and provides a calm environment for students sitting important exams.

What has impressed us most is the staff. They have always been welcoming, friendly, and supportive, making my son feel comfortable and valued from the moment he arrives. Their warmth and professionalism help take some of the stress out of what can be a very daunting experience.

Easy to deal with but sometimes tricky to contact ahead of the exam if you have an urgent question. Able to deal with issues when you can reach them and then extremely helpful.
Relatively easy to get to with paid parking nearby  (not Carpark opposite as this is now permanently closed - 2026).
Local cafe or McDonalds not far away to chill whilst kids are doing their exam.
