Bolton - Tutors & Exams
Our experience with Bolton is through iGCSE entries, examinations and results. As well as providing a professional service for entry, sitting and obtaining results I appreciate their efforts and expertise in working as an advocate for parents and candidates if issues arise. It is comforting to know that support is available. Despite being a growing company, the support remains local and personalized. Thank you to Jude and team.
If you’ve ever tried to navigate systems and services on behalf of someone else, especially a young person, you’ll know that success usually depends on the people. My son needed some access arrangements to be able to sit his exams. I feel like we lucked out here. From the moment I met David, who has been sitting in on my son’s exams, I knew everything was going to be fine. He was exactly the right person at exactly the right time. He’s highly skilled at putting people at ease (young people and their parents/carers). If I had to write down what we needed for these exams to be a success he would have been it! If you’re looking for somewhere to sit exams it’s worth a call with this centre.
Extremely friendly and helpful. Especially Louise and her team are extremely efficient and courteous. Their response times are extremely fast and services provided for examinations are top notch. Always goes an extra mile for their candidates. Kudos to the entire team and administration!
The staff at Tutors & Exams Bolton are absolutely brilliant. They act professionally and show that they care about the candidates. The telephone lines can sometimes be busy but if I leave a message or emaiI I always get a quick response if I have any queries. I can’t speak highly enough of them.
We went to the open event and we were very impressed with Louise and the team. We were shown around the different exam rooms and viewed how they are set out. Louise took lots of time to answer questions and even did some research for me and emailed me to explain an issue I had. My daughter now feels confident to do her exams and I know she’s in very safe hands.
Although the staff were friendly and welcoming, there was an administrative issue. My daughter recently took an A-level exam here as she was resitting one of her exams and her coursework mark was not carried forward and now she has been left with a very low grade. She is very upset as she has lost her offer at her chosen university.
I am honestly so impressed with the experience I have had after just completing my A-levels exams which I sat with this exam centre.
Although A-Level exams can be daunting, prior to my first exam what I was most nervous about was how the exam centre that I was going to be taking my exams with would be like. This is as due to struggling with social anxiety, I had certain concerns. However, my experience was great as the staff were also so friendly and helpful; all of the rooms and papers were well-organised; and everything just went really well! Also, I really liked the location of the exam centre in a sort of quiet back corner of a more bustling neighbourhood.
I am now waiting for my exams to come out in August. However, some of the things that I am curious about are: 1) whether A-level exam results are directly emailed to candidates on Results Day or whether students have to come to collect them; 2) whether students are able to get their exam scripts for free and if so how to ask for them; and 3) how a student can ask for a re-mark if they want one and how to pay for it.
These are questions that I haven’t found answers to on the online website so hope I can get some answers.

Helpful staff across the company, and in Bolton. Family owners of company appear to be constantly trying to expand range of what’s available to students. Bolton branch could be better at regulating the temperature in the rooms as temperatures are vastly different depending on which exam room is assigned to a student and can be an unwelcome distraction (particularly the hot small rooms). Problems currently with administration as over one-month delay (and counting) in receiving personal exam time-tables on the Tech Notice platform.
First impressions excellent, I have communicated via email and always receive fast and efficient replies. I visited the center last week and attended the open event, well organised, welcoming and informative. We look forward to working with you in the coming months! Thank you.

The facilities were impressive. The exam rooms were well-equipped, and very organized. It was evident that the centre prioritises creating a conducive environment for students to perform at their best. The staff was knowledgeable and transparent about the examination process, addressing common concerns and questions with ease.
Overall, attending the open day was an enriching experience that left me feeling motivated and well-informed. I left with a sense of confidence in the exam centre's ability to guide students toward success. I highly recommend visiting the centre if you’re considering your examination options; you won’t be disappointed!

An excellent experience.. we ran a Mental Health First Aid course at the T&E Bolton Centre... the staff were attentive to our needs and helpful towards our delegates. we will definitely book again.
Lovely place, lovely staff, very professional. Not the closest exam centre to us but the only one that could confidently provide what our teen needed.
We booked exams here for our teen who had previously had very negative school exam experiences. What a difference between school & here! Brilliantly set up for supporting students, including seamlessly facilitating access arrangements etc - they could and did do everything for our teen that school mysteriously found so tricky/impossible!
Very knowledgeable, helpful & reassuring, right from our first enquiry until the final exam our daughter completed there.

Tutors and Exams, Bolton, made sitting my A level Spanish exams as an external candidate very easy. They communicated well, replying quickly to any queries and were impressively helpful from initial exam application to arriving on the day. I would highly recommend them.,

My son struggles with ADHD and took his GCSEs here. The staff were fantastic, efficient and professional with any queries or concerns I had as a parent, and were welcoming and calming for my son. They made a stressful situation tolerable and put me at ease. Thank you everyone.
Not only are these training spaces ideal, clean and easy to book, but Adam is a massive support to help ensure training events are supported and work as planned. Always on hand to assist, will definitely use again moving forwards
I sat a GCSE this May/June at Bolton Tutors & Exams. The staff made the experience a very positive and friendly experience. I'm a few decades older than the majority of exam candidates, but they made me feel very much at home. The classrooms were light and bright, and the seating was comfortable. I felt secure , and everything was explained well. Thank you, Bolton!
These guys are just fabulous, as far as exams go they aren’t a great experience…except if u take them here! They took a nervous girl who was falling apart physically with stress, put my mind at rest and offered so much support and without them I likely would have failed to complete my exams papers! I honestly can’t sing there praises enough.
Louise, Lyndsey and Sarah run the centre and are truly some of the friendliest loveliest people I’ve ever met. They go above and beyond for everyone who passes through their exam centre! They really did bend over backwards to ensure I was comfortable and that I could give my exams everything I’ve got! They genuinely wanted to do anything in their power to ensure you achieved your goal. The kindest ladies! The atmosphere they have created here is just amazing. I can’t thank them enough for all the encouragement and support they offered me!
Invigilators here are also awesome!! Specifically Pauline, Claire and Donna who remember every student in there exams and are warm, chatty and extremely supportive. They make an intense environment feel a little lighter. They made me laugh and smile, and settled any nerves I had going into the exam fabulously. There smiles light up the exam rooms. Again they go above and beyond to make sure you can do your very best in exams.

I have worked for Tutors and exams as an invigilator for a few years now. I have to say this has been the best year so far. Lindsay, Louise and Sarah are so supportive of the team. The move to the new premises has been great. The team I work with all support each other and I would like to think they have become friends as well as colleagues. Here’s to many more years of growing and becoming even better. Hoping all the candidates get the results they deserve
I have been really impressed with the quality of customer service at Tutors and Exams. I requested to book my son’s exams today for summer 25 and this immediately led to prompt and courteous responses from their team. Everyone has been really helpful in navigating what can sometimes feel like an overwhelming and difficult journey for me. It’s given me a real sense of confidence that this is the right place for my son to sit his exams.
I am writing this review as a self employed invigilator for tutors and exams Bolton. The centre manager Lindsey, exams manager Louise and Sarah, (sorry Sarah I don't know your title) have been doing an amazing job. They have had everything so well organised. Everything is in place so that the invigilators can start exams smoothly and stress free. Allowing us to get on with our job effectively. Thank you ladies. X
