A Voice For The Home Educated

A Voice For The Home Educated

It’s no secret that 2020 has felt like something from a movie. It’s hard to believe really but here we are, now heading deep into November and all working together to try and navigate these tricky waters.

The team at Tutors & Exams have years of education experience, primarily in the exams sector, meaning we were able to spring into action to best devise a plan to help thousands of our own candidates in addition to displaced private candidates that had been let down by other centres. We have been working extremely hard behind the scenes ever since for the home educated. We know this has been a tough and uncertain time for so many, and we provided a voice for the community.

Although there has been speculation surrounding 2021 exams, OfQual and the JCQ have confirmed that exams will go ahead next year, with candidates being granted an additional three weeks to prepare. You can read more about it on the Government website here.

Joanna Merrett recently wrote a report on the risk of missing home-educated children in the education policy response to school closure and lessons for adapting home learning. You can take a look at the full report here.

We will continue to do all we can for private and home educated communities as we stand together to rebuild better and stronger than ever before.
