Getting Organised for Exam Day

Getting Organised for Exam Day

With Summer exams just around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about how you’re going to get there and making sure everything runs as smoothly as possible.

We’ve put together a helpful guide on how to stay ahead of the game before the big day:

Know Your Destination

The first step is knowing exactly where you’re going – sounds pretty obvious, right? However, on very busy exam days, we sometimes use alternate sites to accommodate everyone. Don’t be caught off guard! Check the addresses for these sites by visiting our Centre Locations page, clicking your registered centre, and scrolling to the bottom of the page.

If you are to be seated at one of our alternate sites, don’t worry – we will let you know via your candidate portal. It’s important to keep checking for updates leading up to the big day.

Parking & Drop-offs

It’s important to note that our centres do not provide on-site parking or designated drop-off areas. If you are driving or being dropped off, you will need to:

  • Research local public car parks in advance.
  • Account for the time it takes to find a space and walk to the centre.
  • Factor in potential morning traffic or roadworks.

Public Transport

If you’re relying on trains or buses, a little foresight goes a long way. Public transport can be unpredictable, so stay ahead of the game as best you can:

  • Check for Disruptions: Keep an eye out for scheduled strikes or route changes.
  • The “Plan B”: Always have an alternative route or method of transport ready just in case your primary choice falls through.
  • Buffer Time: Aim to arrive much earlier than necessary. It’s better to spend twenty minutes relaxing at a nearby café rather than being stuck in a traffic jam!

Hotels & Accommodation

Travelling from further afield? You may wish to stay at a hotel the night before so you can arrive for your exams the next day without having to worry about getting there on time.

To make your stay a little easier, we have discounts with some of the local accommodation options nearby our exam centres – check them out at https://www.tutorsandexams.uk/offers/
