Retaking GCSE Exams: A Second Chance to Excel
If you didn’t get the GCSE grades you were hoping for this summer, don’t panic! At Tutors & Exams, our dedicated team is here to support you every step of the way.
There are a couple of options available to you. Firstly, when you received your results via the TECH (Tutors & Exams Candidate Hub), you will have also received details of how you can apply for an Enquiry About Results (EAR’s). This will give you deadlines and fees for several services from a Clerical Recheck, to Review of Marking and more. Please note, there is no such service as “Remarking”. The Awarding Bodies carry out a Review of Marking. Here’s a Handy Guide from our friends at Pearson. The other option you have is to resit your exams in the autumn.
If you feel that you didn’t perform to your best, and can improve the grade that you achieved, then retaking GCSE Exams is probably the best route for you. We firmly believe in second chances and are also ready to welcome candidates from other centres for retakes or resits.
GCSE Resits are available in the following Seasons/Series:
Oct/Nov – Cambridge Assessment International Examinations International iGCSE (some restrictions apply. Check the CAIE Syllabus that you are studying carefully. New and full entries can be made).
November – JCQ (Ofqual Regulated) English and Maths GCSE (Post 16 Only). Edexcel Pearson International GCSE (some restrictions apply. Check Edexcel Pearson Specifications that you are studying carefully. New and full entries can be made).
How do I know what is available in which season/series to resit?
GCSE Resits can be looked up via the Awarding Body exam timetables. These will tell you exactly what is available and at what time. Once you have made entries with Tutors & Exams, you will receive a personal timetable via your Tutors & Exams Candidate Hub (TECH) Portal.
