Cambridge Assessment โ€“ Summer 2021

Cambridge Assessment โ€“ Summer 2021

Cambridge Assessment International Education have released information, 25th February 2021, on Summer 2021 grading. The main details include information surrounding the evidence required for schools.

“To assess this grade, schools should identify a portfolio of three substantial pieces of work from each student in every syllabus.”

We are working closely with CAIE to establish what “substantial” means and how we can ensure this is applied to Private Candidates too. This follows the announcement made by the DfE and Ofqual earlier today. We will ensure that the process is accessible to as many candidates as possible without the need the need for candidates to incur any additional fees. However, until we know what the exact process will be, we cannot make any guarantees at this time.

Cambridge Assessment International Education, Summer 2021 Grading, does not fall within the remit of Ofqual. The qualifications offered by CAIE are not regulated in the UK. We will be seeking clarification from CAIE over the next few days as to how we can apply their requirements to our candidates. However, the vast majority of our candidates are already placed with one of our Learning Partners. Information will be released to these candidates over the coming days.

The grading for candidates during Summer 2021 will again be challenging. We want to make sure that you all receive the grades you deserve and been working hard to achieve. We ask for you to continue to be patient during these unsettling times.

Please continue with your studies as if exams were still going ahead. It is really important to maintain your revision, assignment completion and continue your learning.

We will be issuing candidates that are already registered information and a survey via their portals. This will give you options available and how to proceed.

We will not be answering emails relating to this document. This is the information we have so far and will update further via your portal.

Stay safe and be kind.
