Ofqual Announcement: Mock Exams
Are you looking to sit GCSE or A Level exams this May/June?
Tutors & Exams are delighted to be able to offer candidates the opportunity to sit mock exams, which can be either marked or unmarked.
Why are mock exams so important?
Students in mainstream schools will sit a number of mock exams before they take their GCSEs or IGCEs, starting from the age of 11 or 12 and then every year until the ‘real thing’. Mock exams aren’t just about testing knowledge, they can also help candidates become familiar with their surroundings and to practice questions under timed exam conditions.
Mock exams are about building confidence in a way just revising can’t, and taking away the fear of the unknown: how will I know where to sit, where are the toilets, what do I do if I have a question? Everything is less scary or worrying when you’ve done it once before and exams are no different.
Being familiar with the whole exam experience from the moment you arrive at centre to the moment you leave, means you know what to expect and what it will ‘feel’ like. It will help you to deal with the pressure a little bit better and build that all important confidence, which is key to exam success!
Ofqual Resilience Announcement
Ofqual has recently published guidance for GCSEs, AS and A Levels and project qualifications as part of their contingency arrangements for the Summer 2024 exam series in the unlikely event that they are unable to go ahead.
For exams which are made up of exam only or exams and non-exam assessment, the advice is that candidates have evidence from one set of mocks per subject, taken under exam conditions to enable alternative methods of awarding grades.
To ensure our candidates have suitable evidence, Tutors & Exams will be running mock exams during the following weeks:
- Marked mocks: £99.00 (w/c 4 March 2024)
- Unmarked mocks: £64.00 (w/c 11 March 2024)
Remember, we’re offering 10% discount if you book before the end of January!
